The Railroad Commission regulates oil and gas and has nothing to do with cannabis — which is why this race is easy to miss. Its Democratic nominee sits in the Texas House and filed a bill in both 2023 and 2025 to repeal marijuana offenses outright, alongside votes against the hemp-THC ban. A guide organised by office would never surface that.

He holds no Texas legislative office, so there is no roll call or bill authorship to search. The Libertarian Party platform does address cannabis, but a party document is not an act by this candidate and is not recorded as one.
